We have openings for facilitating play, assisting on garden days, or helping during our wholesome communal lunch. Volunteer opportunities are currently available Tues-Fri for different lengths of time during the window of 8:30am-1:30pm.
Requirements for all volunteers: Volunteers must pass a background check and be willing to wear a face mask in close proximity to children or indoors, depending on our current level of COVID safety protocol. We ask that all volunteers sign a contract of commitment to our guiding values of inspiration, intention, and interdependence as well as the following statement: "We acknowledge that it is sacred work to create and maintain a space for children to thrive. We prioritize the perspective of historically marginalized and excluded people in our work, and this includes the historic and ongoing marginalization of children in our society. We wholeheartedly commit to the lifelong process of learning to be effective and humble anti-racist educators. We are fully affirming of LGBTQ+ children and adults in our AFK community. We strive to be an inclusive and accessible community to those with disabilities, neurodiversity, and other differences."
