Ashley Dunn (she/her)
Associate Director, Educator

A life-long lover of the natural world, Ashley joined AFK's Educator team in 2021 after working in the realm of early childhood since 2014. A former pastry chef, Ashley graduated from The Art Institute's Baking and Pastry program in 2009. After the birth of her own child, Ashley completed training as a Postpartum Doula in 2015, adding a certification in Holistic Postpartum Care through Sacred Postpartum in 2016. Following her growing interest in Early Childhood Education, Ashley taught in a Primary level Montessori environment for three years. As AFK reopened in 2021, Ashley was able to weave together her passions for Holistic Early Childhood Education and the outdoors. Ashley is currently working towards certification in Early Childhood through Lifeways North America. When not serving as a guide in the forest, Ashley is a fiber arts enthusiast, who can usually be found knitting or collecting plants for her dye pot, baking, or hiking with her family.
